It was surfer girl couture at the DSquared2 presentation yesterday, at Milan Fashion Week, for the Spring/Summer 16 collection. Take a closer look at the full lineup here with Buro 24/7 Middle East…

Surfs up. For Spring/Summer 16, twin designers Dean and Dan Caten looked to their one of their favourite pastimes for the inspiration for their newest collection presented at Milan Fashion Week on Sunday.

Backstage the designers said they imagined a fierce surfer girl heading straight from the beach to a rave. Taking stride down the runway with slicked back hair that evoked a 'fresh out of water' look, models came out onto the runway in scuba-style ensembles that translated the surfer girl style from beach to bar with looks that felt most appropriate for night than day.

In a colour palette of acid neons, bodycon scuba dresses paired with flowing fabrics appeared zipped up like wetsuits. Sequins appeared giving a wet-look to low slung trousers and skin tight leggings, pared with swimwear-inspired bodysuits and bikini tops.

Carrying out the concept of beach to bar, and the idea of the surfer-girl leaving her board behind to head to a rave, the Caten twins detailed shoes and suits alike with technical cords wrapped around the ankles of strappy heels and around the bodice of their monokinis. Other details came in the form of plexiglass jewellery in an array of bright neons decorated with tropical flowers and tattoo body sleeves that toughened up the surfer girl style.
