The clash of the titans: The MET Gala 2015 host and guests revealed
Who picked the MET over Chanel's Seoul show?
Loyal Buro 24/7 Middle East readers will know that we are rather intrigued by the decision for Chanel to host its cruise show in Seoul showcase on May 4 – the exact same day that Anna Wintour will host one of the biggest red carpet events of the year: The 2015 MET Gala.
Previous statements from a Chanel spokesperson revealed that it was "extremely difficult" date-wise this year, and that “We had committed to bringing our cruise collection to our Korean clients and May 4 was the only possible date,” the luxury French house explained, adding, “Chanel is very much dedicated to supporting the Anna Wintour Costume Institute Benefit this year as we always have. We greatly respect the incredible contributions Anna Wintour and The Metropolitan Museum of Art have made toward the preservation, education and celebration of the art of fashion, and are proud to be a supporter of this important institution.”
Of course, typically both the Chanel show and the MET Gala would draw in an unrivalled crowd, but what happens when they clash? Who does longtime Chanel girl Cara Delevingne choose for example? Well, she has chosen the MET Gala if these new reports are anything to go by – and it seems they are...
A list of over 100 VIPs has been printed on the gala tickets (see image below) which has been verified as legitimate by a trustworthy source and Vogue. Delevingne's name is on said list, as is, rather oddly – Lagerfeld's. Other big names include designers Hedi Slimane, Marc Jacobs, Christopher Bailey, Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton, Nicolas Ghesquiere, Oscar de la Renta's Peter Copping and more. A-list celebrities including Kim and Kanye, Sienna Miller, Colin Firth, Blake Lively, Julianne Moore, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Eddie Redmayne and more also feature.
So will Lagerfeld actually attend the MET Gala, or is he just a host name and there in spirit. Only time will tell... Meanwhile, take a look at the impressive list of names in the scan below.
