Mary Katrantzou wins the 2015 BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Prize
And a £200,000 grant
Beating fierce competition – including Osman, Holly Fulton, Michael van der Ham, Mother of Pearl, Sophia Webster and Emilia Wickstead – Mary Katrantzou has been revealed as this year's BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Prize winner.
The designer, who is championed for her incredible work with prints, will receive a £200,000 grant and top-level mentoring.
British Vogue editor and chair of the fund Alexandra Shulman said: “It was an extremely diverse short list, but ultimately, we all agreed that Mary has not only created a strong and hugely appealing identity for her work, but has put in place measures that, along with the support of this prize, should ensure an exciting and successful next stage of her career.”
Previous BFC Fashion Fund winners have included Peter Pilotto, Nicholas Kirkwood, Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane and Erdem.
