The London Fashion Week star label is gearing up for a cool collaboration with the sportswear giant, planned to launch this Autumn

As if we weren't satisfied enough with high fashion and affordable brand collaborations this week following on from Alexander Wang's big news concerning H&M – former Buro Asks candidate Mary Katrantzou is set to design a sports-orientated line for Adidas.

The Greek-born, London-based designer who has made digital print her signature, will design a capsule collection of clothes and footwear due for release in November.

Katrantzou is a Central Saint Martins College of Art graduate, and has explained she is truly "excited" about the union. "I grew up, like so many other kids around the world, wearing Adidas trainers and I'm really excited about bringing my vision to such a global brand," she said.

Many A-list stars such as Lily Collins and Lupita Nyong'o have worn the designer's creations on the red carpet and while prices for this new collection have yet to be released, they will no doubt be more attainable than the main line when it goes on sale.

Dirk Schoenberger, Adidas sport style division's Global Creative Director agreed, "I admire Mary's extraordinary sense of printing techniques, colours and silhouette that will bring another amazing new aesthetic to the Adidas Originals women's collection."
