Marie Claire commends 20 women who are "changing the world"
In honour of the title's 20th anniversary
Marie Claire is celebrating it's 20th anniversary in the US, and to commemorate the accomplishment, the title has revealed a big project for its much-scrutinised September issue.
With Blake Lively on its cover, Marie Claire has introduced an entire section titled, '20 Women Changing The World.' The list features a number of familiar faces and names from Chelsea Clinton, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Melinda Gates, Gabrielle Giffords, Shakira, Taylor Swift, and Olivia Wilde...
The magazine refers to the those included as "movers, shakers, mavericks, and badasses who are boldly, bravely, audaciously blazing new paths for women and girls... Those who forged ahead to alleviate the problems in areas of health, education, violence, economic empowerment, and political engagement."
"We couldn't have found a more dynamic, diverse group of powerful women," says Anne Fulenwider, Marie Claire's Editor-in-Chief. "I am beyond proud of the portfolio. I can't wait for the next one!"
