Margherita and Teresa Maccapani Missoni announce a new charity project
Created for Italian oncologist Umberto Veronesi's namesake foundation, Goal For Kids – which helps children affected by cancer – Margherita and Teresa Maccapani Missoni's new charity project is a fashion collaboration with La Rinascente.
For the initiative, the Missoni sisters asked Italian illustrator Ivo Bisignano to create colourful characters that could decorate the capsule collection's pieces. With the proceeds set to go to the Gold For Kids project, the new children's line will consist of two T-shirts, a jumper, and a shopping bag, which will be sold at La Rinascente's 11 stores across Italy.
The pregnant Margherita Maccapani Missoni described Bisignano's characters as "simply adorable" with the unique drawings decorating the pieces resembling some of the human body's elements, from colourful DNA to neurons.
