Marc Jacobs unveils new video campaign for Spring/Summer 15
Marc Jacobs has released a new video campaign for Spring/Summer 15 ready-to-wear, in keeping with his New York Fashion Week presentation for the same collection, which was a very aural event. Guests at his New York show experienced a sort of silent disco as they were required to don Beats by Dr Dre headphones to watch the event, and this new video puts just as much emphasis on the element of sound.
Set in a gallery space, four models clip-clap their heels as they move through the acoustic cube room, each taking up a place in front of one of the four identical bubble-gum pink canvases. The video takes a humours approach to the taboo and snobbery of silence. Each model wears one of the military-inspired ensembles from the collection with the emphasis being on the handbag accessories each of them is carrying, making a point to mark the crisp click open of the clasp on a beige shoulder bag design.
