An incredible line up comprised the jury of the first ever LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize competition yesterday – that would be Nicolas Ghesquière, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Humberto Leon, Phoebe Philo, Raf Simons and Riccardo Tisci, to be precise. They were joined of couse by Delphine Arnault, Executive Vice-President of Louis Vuitton, Jean-Paul Claverie, Advisor to Bernard Arnault and Pierre-Yves Roussel, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the LVMH Fashion Division...

The winner of the stiff competition was finally announced to be Thomas Tait, a young designer from Canada with a London-based brand. Delphine Arnault commented, "The jury was captivated by [his] personality and work. He is a great talent. I'm proud LVMH can help him develop his brand. I have no doubt though all the other prize finalists will have an amazing journey and I wish them luck..."
The 12 finalists included Atto by Julien Dossena, CG by Chris Gelinas, Gabriele Colangelo, Shayne Oliver's Hood by Air, Jacquemus by Simon Porte Jacquemus, Miuniku by Nikita and Tina Sutradhar, Tillmann Lauterbach, Tim Coppens, Simone Rocha, Suno by Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty, and Vika Gazinskaya.
