LVMH is helping Meghan Markle’s favourite handbag brand Gabriela Hearst go global

The luxury goods company made a minor investment in the label
Gabriela Hearst's global presence is about to get a whole lot stronger...

One of the strongest players on the New York Fashion Week calendar is Gabriela Hearst. Known for her celeb-fave handbags and her sustainable efforts, the designer’s star has risen dramaticallty in recent seasons.

It’s been just over three years since her eponymous label launched sustainable and luxurious creations, and now, we’ll be seeing even more of her designs thanks to a new investment from LVMH.

Overnight, news emerged that the label has just received a minority investment from the luxury goods company in order to expand the brand’s existence globally.

Although terms of the deal were not revealed, LVMH Luxury Ventures “typically invests between [Dhs8] and [Dhs63] million per deal”, according to Business of Fashion

The brand is already available on leading e-commerce sites including Matchesfashion.com (which just launched its S/S’19 collection exclusively) and Net-a-Porter (who dropped an exclusive handbag design from the designer late last year), and we expect this new venture will only serve to further the designer’s influence in women’s wardrobes globally. Particulary if the Duchess of Sussex keeps wearing her pieces, too…

In the meantime, take a look at how long it takes to make three of the new handbags in Louis Vuitton’s S/S’19 show
