LVMH finally settles with eBay
8 years later
The details were vague, but it seems that yesterday LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton and eBay have finally reached a settlement in their legal battle over the sale of counterfeit luxury goods on eBay.
Releasing a statement, which said "thanks to the cooperation measures put in place, the companies have settled ongoing litigation," by Michael Jacobson, senior vice president and general counsel at eBay, and Pierre Godé, vice president at LVMH adding "Thanks to our joint efforts, consumers will enjoy a safer digital environment globally."
The terms of the out-of-court settlement were not revealed, and neither were any preventative initiatives. The new settlement ends an eight-year battle, with gains and losses on both sides.
