Louis Vuitton launch the opening of Series 2: Past, Present and Future exhibition
In Los Angeles
Los Angeles seems to be in a competition with New York to become America's fashion capital. Following announcements that both Christian Dior and Tom Ford will showcase its Cruise collections in the Californian city later this year, last night Louis Vuitton's Nicolas Ghesquière opened the Series 2 celebratory exhibition 'Past, Present and Future' in the City of Angels.
Ghesquière rounded up a handful of his influential friends including actresses Michelle Williams, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Rosamund Pike and Jennifer Connelly, It-girl Alexa Chung and the legendary Catherine Deneuve, to immerse themselves inside the world of Louis Vuitton.
The new exhibition, which runs in unison with Ghesquière's Series 2 Spring/Summer 15 campaign and project, starts with the glowing LV letters, and then takes its guests on a unique trip to experience the iconic, heritage fashion house's 'Past', 'Present', and 'Future'. The same female holograms that opened the Louis Vuitton SS15 show at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris last year are present at the new LA exhibit, as well as a three-dimensional projection and a 'Gallery of Accessories' – where bags, shoes and other objects created by a futuristic 3D printer are on display.
