Louis Vuitton's travelling exhibition lands in Dubai

See LV

Following its inauguration in Wuhan and Hangzhou, Louis Vuitton's See LV exhibition makes a pit-stop in Dubai...

Louis Vuitton's travelling exhibition has been spotted in Wuhan in 2020, followed by Hangzhou in 2021, and now, Dubai is playing host to the third leg of the month-long exhibition, titled See LV. Offering a one-of-a-kind journey that puts the spotlight on the French fashion house's nearly 170-year history, See LV allows visitors to delve deep into its world through immersive and interactive digital experiences.

Mixing archival objects from the Maison’s heritage collection with recent creations, See LV is broken down into four universes that bring together a remarkable collection of contemporary looks and early twentieth-century trunks, artistic collaborations and iconic leather creations. These include Finding Louis, In Fashion, Bags Stories and Evolution Gallery.

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by a portrait of young Louis Vuitton, conceived by artist Refik Anadol using Artificial Intelligence, visitors will find themselves in a room featuring a reverse-chronology selection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear pieces including an exquisite gown by Charles Frederick Worth – illustrating the Maison’s longstanding relationship with fashion.

The exhibition then presents a wall of Louis Vuitton’s most iconic bags and images of their celebrity friends, including Alicia Vikander, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Regina King and many more. The final universe (Evolution Gallery) is entirely dedicated to Louis Vuitton’s major contributions to the invention of luggage typologies, ranging from the iconic Wardrobe trunk to the Skateboard trunk, 1920s Auto trunks to 2020’s Louis Vuitton 2054 raincoat-tent.

See LV is located at The Dubai Fountain, and is open to the public from February 4 to March 7, 2022.
