Louis Vuitton pre fall 2014
Awaiting the arrival of Nicolas Ghesquière
Nicolas Ghesquière will present his first collection for Louis Vuitton at the main fall shows in Paris coming early March. During this transition from creative director Marc Jacobs to Ghesquiere, the latest collection was created entirely by the Louis Vuitton design team, under the leadership of Julie de Libran - women's studio director. Libran who worked with past creative director Jacobs for five of his sixteen years in the French house, will also be saying her farewells to LV.
Texture and playful embellishment were a key component this fall, with tweed bomber jackets, sequined LV graffiti letters on knits and dresses, fishnet socks, thigh high printed boots and fur accents on outerwear. Rich colours - burgundy, dark green, black and dark purple set the noticeably darker tone for Libran's last collection. Traditional Vuitton luxury is evident in the extended Icons collection, a range of more casual pieces designed for travel. Most of the outerwear was reversible or convertible. Pants that zipped off into Bermuda shorts and beautiful shearling jackets which you can wear two ways.
