Louis Vuitton are launching a new biannual magazine

The Book

Next month, Michael Burke – chairman and chief executive of Louis Vuitton – will take on a new title, that of 'publisher' as the fashion house prepares to launch its own magazine

Simply called The Book, Louis Vuitton's new print title will publish biannually – with the first edition, out in October, starring Charlotte Gainsbourg as cover girl and an interview with the iconic Catherine Deneuve inside.

The inaugural issue is spread over 126 pages and also contains a beautiful menswear shoot on location in Iceland by Peter Lindbergh, and a feature exploring vintage Keepall bags in monogram canvas.

The Book will be translated in eleven languages and mailed to select Louis Vuitton clients worldwide. French Elle contributor Sylvia Jorif takes on the role of editor whilst Yorgo Tloupas mans art direction.

Within the pages, the houses' creative director Nicolas Ghesquière also dissects the first exit from his debut show for Louis Vuitton – Freja Beha Erichsen in a coat, dress and boots,  "She's wearing clothes that we are all familiar with and that may reference various times in the past. And yet, ultimately, this look is ageless and timeless as well as fresh and spontaneous."
