London Fashion Week to honour Disney's Minnie Mouse
For a photographic exhibition 'Minnie Style'
Fresh from the news that it is launching a technology meets fashion focussed awards ceremony, the British Fashion Council (BFC) have now revealed that it will celebrate an iconic Disney figure at September's edition of London Fashion Week (LFW) for the Spring/Summer 16 season.
Minnie Mouse will have the sartorial spotlight shined on her later this year, when the BFC presents a one-off 'Minnie Style' photographic exhibition at LFW. The showcase will explore how the iconic Disney mouse character has influenced style and the fashion industry over the years.
Famous fashion moments including when Madonna posed for Herb Ritts wearing Minnie Mouse ears, and the loveable cartoon herself fronting Love magazine's Autumn/Winter 13 issue will feature. As will the image of Cara Delevingne and Georgia May Jagger wearing Minnie Mouse ears created by designers on alternative covers of the same edition.
Georgia May Jagger will also be curating the exhibition, which will run from September 18 to 22 this year, and will include some of her own photography work in the show.
