Alber Elbaz and Lanvin unveil exclusive Middle East capsule collection in Dubai
At an intimate royal fashion show
During the highly anticipated and much celebrated visit of Lanvin's creative director Alber Elbaz to Dubai, the designer at the heritage French house staged an intimate presentation of Lanvin's signature pieces together with the capsule collection that has been created exclusively for the region. A curated guest list of women including Middle Eastern Royalty and VVIP clients gathered over high-tea in the Peregrine Ballroom of the Arabian Courtyard at the One & Only Royal Mirage (where Elbaz later hosted his garden party – pictures here.)
The venue set the tone perfectly, fusing French and Arabic styles with the hotel's architecture and landscaping providing a flawlessly Middle Eastern frame for the classic French salon feeling ballroom interior to shine. Lanvin paid meticulous attention to detail with beautiful paired down fresh flowers in intricate bouquets punctuating the candlelit afternoon tea. Guests were seated on silk jacquard furniture which were even adorned with cushions made from the Autumn/Winter 15 collection fabric.
The fashion presentation featured an extensive 34 looks from the Autumn/Winter 15 collection, which was inspired by Elbaz's native Morocco. Long flowing gowns and embroidered jumpsuits and jackets, all got a private showing, which was later accompanied by a fashion discussion and presentation with the designer himself. The highlight was the presentation of the exclusive capsule collection that Elbaz designed dedicatedly for the region, which we predict will be highly sought after.
