Paris Fashion Week: Lanvin Autumn/Winter 15
Lanvin celebrated its landmark 125th anniversary last season, with a refined collection that exorcised simplicity, which is the sort of context that helps Alber Elbaz's new Autumn/Winter 15 lineup have all the more impact. This wow-factor presentation was a jovial affair, filled with upbeat style, a real crowd pleaser, oozing with charm.
The collection travelled from curve enhancing elegance to bellowing silk gypsy dresses layered with shearling outerwear. Spanning the spectrum from the suited and booted city woman, to free spirited and etherial .
Wrap-slip skirts, A-line coats, dresses, blouses and trousers were all treated with tassels and fringes. This is the Lavin insignia this season and it's is joyously buoyant. Fringes swooshed and swayed in various alignment, and even dangled from a pair of leather gloves. While tassels hung and swung from waist bands tied just-so to accentuate the silhouette.
When it came to the tops and toes it was all about leather boots, which came in a multi-tonal finishes, knee- high and ankle and often times were styled with trousers tucked in. As for tops – a variety of hats and caps punctuated the looks, some were embroidered with red floral designs, and some got that delightful tassel treatment.
