Let's face it, there are a group of people who are just waiting to bash Kim Kardashian at every opportunity, and her red carpet choice at the Met Gala last night is no different. The reality TV star and wife of Kanye West opted for a Peter Dundas designed Cavalli number, but some think it is a little too similar to Beyonce's 2012 look...

Last night, Kim Kardashian along with almost every celebrity in the world (at least those not in Seoul with Chanel) made her debut on the Met Gala 2015 red carpet. The reality TV star opted to wear a Roberto Cavalli number – marking Peter Dundas' first ever Cavalli creation since his return to the brand.

As soon as pictures of Kardashian in the sheer creation hit the Internet a matter of hours ago, many started to compare her ultra-glam look to that of Beyonce's 2012 ensemble. Jay Z's wife wore a sheer, feathered Givenchy gown to the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations fête three years ago and the similarities with Kardashian's dress are undeniable (picture above).

However, Kardashian has taken to Instagram in the past hour – casually dismissing critics and haters but not answering to them, explaining that her and Dundas were inspired by Cher. Take a look below.
