Karl Lagerfeld to launch new children's line

Mini couture

Karl Lagerfeld is making his first foray into the world of childrenswear – preparing to launch his very own line for the little ones for Spring/Summer 16 after recently signing an agreement with France’s Groupe CWF…

After walking the Chanel runway several times and appearing in the French fashion house's last cruise campaign, little man Hudson Kroenig will soon be getting to sport some new kid's wear – courtesy of his godfather Karl Lagerfeld and his eponymous label.

Lagerfeld's collection will consist of rock 'n' roll-inspired fashions and accessories for boys and girls – from newborns to 16 year olds. Partnering with Groupe CWF for the new fashion line, Uncle Karl is set to introduce two seasonal collections a year.

Pier Paolo Righi, president and chief executive officer of Karl Lagerfeld, noted that the company's expansion into the juniors market is "a natural fit" due to its "cool, ironic" style ethos – with Europe, the Middle East and Korea the first retail markets to receive the new children's line.
