Exclusive: Racil now on Moda Operandi
A smoking collaboration
As Moda Operandi continues to increase it's Middle Eastern offering, Buro 24/7 Middle East zoned in on the launch of an exclusive trunk show collection by London-based Lebanese designer, Racil Chalhoub. Her coveted label aptly titled Racil, is injected with masculine tailoring and bold silhouettes, which are juxtaposed with soft silks, velvets and delicate lace. Think double breasted tuxedo jackets, ankle-length palazzo pants and coat dresses in a palette of midnight blues and blacks as well as tweeds in grey, cream and soft browns.
Speaking about the collection, Jana Hofheimer, RTW Brand Manager at Moda Operandi, says: "Smoking jackets — the jewel-toned alternative to the tux — have long been established as the English gentleman's evening piece of choice. But now, thanks to Racil Chalhoub's latest collection, Smokings, women can channel the elegance of tailored velvet and silk just as easily."

Tuxedos are creeping back as a coveted collection for everyday womenwear. So Buro 24/7 Middle East asked Chalhoub, how she likes to wear hers: ''For me a Tuxedo is a piece every woman should have in her wardrobe, it's such a versatile suit that you can take from day to night! I like to wear mine with trainers and a t-shirt in the day and then freshen it up in a minute by adding heels and lipstick. When you are quite busy, that's a priceless option to have! Tuxedos also make a fabulous alternative to evening wear especially when you don't feel like wearing a dress! In a tuxedo you are always very elegant but you are never undressed nor over dressed."
The exclusive Smokings collection by Racil is only available on modaoperandi.com until Friday 15, April.
