One of the most progressive department stores in France has announced it is shutting their doors. Buro 24/7 Middle East has the story...

Today Colette, the iconic Parisian department store, announced that it would be closing down come December '17. The multi-brand store, which is located on 213 rue Saint Honoré, first opened in 1997 under the vision of Colette Roussau and now 20 years on the time has come for the retailer to release her name from the market.

A statement was released on today stating: "As all good things must come to an end, after twenty wonderful years, Colette should be closing its doors on December 20th of this year. Colette Roussaux has reached the time when she would like to take her time; and Colette cannot exist without Colette."

Now over the next six months, the store is set to continue as normal introducing new collections, exclusive collaborations and one-off offers, however come December a new name is rumoured to be taking over the haunt. "Negotiations are under way with Saint Laurent and we would be proud to have a Brand with such a history, with whom we have frequently collaborated, taking over our address," confirmed Colette. "We are happy of the serious interest expressed by Saint Laurent in this project, and it could also represent a very good opportunity for our employees."
