Paris Fashion Week: John Galliano Autumn/Winter 15

Bill Gaytten set out to create a collection for John Galliano Autumn/Winter 15 by "Merging a youthful look with brilliant craftsmanship." This was chiefly achieved by the use of vivid colour. Bright orange/red flashes came in shiny mid calf boots coats and dressed, and an exotic orchid purple formed the two pronged colour attack. Elsewhere black and bronze formed a lush foundation from which the colour could spring forth.
Maxi coats and cropped coats formed the basis of the outerwear in mohair and wool fabrics, while shorter jackets sweaters were treated with fur trim detailing.
Evening-wear was glamorous yet fresh and not pinned down by era-specific silhouettes. Necklines varied between halter and one shoulder and gem embellishment and rouched seams formed feminine shapes without being clingy.
The beauty elements were stripped back, hair was worn down and simple and faces reflected the young and fresh attitude of the collection. A sign of the label's renewed focus and a glimpse into the future of the brand's new contemporary licensing partnership with Modalis...
