Jean Paul Gaulter is back and bursting with inspiration after taking some time off for the past ready-to-wear seasons. Discover his Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 15 lineup in full here…

Breaking from the forming trend of the Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 15 season, of focussing squarely on evening and more formal designs, Jean Paul Gaultier presents a collection full of vivre and range. Are there evening looks? You bet, and exemplary examples at that. Gowns with sculptural circular skirts, that resembled paddle fans, the grandest of which possessed a chiffon ruffle trim at the strapless neckline and was crafted in bolf gold and black, and a hide version of the same with a fringed trim and tapped on the folklorish vibe that pervaded the lineup.

Daywear looks saw short versions of the rounded paddle shape on skirts and dresses whilst less dimensional skirts and dresses felt more paired-down.  Elsewhere a series of separates played with Gaultier's signature sailor stripe theme, inspired by the seaside town of Brittany, which was also an inspiration for this collection, as the designer plundered the rich costume history of the area for the folklorish accents.
