Natasha Poly poses for Isabel Marant's SS15 campaign
Amazonian chic
In a mission to showcase the ready-to-wear label’s more dynamic side, designer Isabel Marant explained to WWD, “The inspiration for the Spring/Summer show was something tribal, but not in the literal sense. And so for the campaign, we wanted to show a very modern and urban girl, but also to get across her savage attitude.”
The bold campaign features Natasha Poly sporting an oversize, belted jacket, a printed miniskirt and Spartan-style leather sandals, with her posing in a series of fun actions for photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. “She’s a warrior, but she’s also fun. It’s not supposed to be so serious,” explained the French designer.
The model’s look was also adventurous and animal-like, with her striking makeup done by Lisa Butler and hair pinned up by Didier Malige. The campaign is set to break in the February issues of French Vogue, British Harper’s Bazaar and Elle, before appearing in March issues of American fashion titles.
