A closer look at the International Talents Showcase at VFDE
Calling all creatives
On October 31, the Armani ballroom opened its doors to a room full of designers from around the world – highlighting some of the best new talent as part of VFDE's three-day programme. As Franca Sozzani stated yesterday at The Address Hotel press conference, "this year, is about new blood, the younger generation." – which is exactly what this designer showcase highlights.
Some truely standout designs included the fancy yet androgynous footwear from Coliac who hail from Italy and the beautifully hand-embellished garments from Lithuanian designer Marius Janusauskas to the minimal/sculptural jewellery from Australian-native Mies Nobis who created the brand based on the philosophy of 'Less is More', and many more.
Valentino's Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Picciolo, supermodel Lily Cole and Elisa Sednaoui were also present, talking to the up-and-coming designers while Karolina Kurkova tried on some of the new creations that were on display.
