In a stylish sorbet-mix of colours, Emilia Wickstead sent her Spring/Summer 16 collection down the runway at London Fashion Week. Inspired by the 1939 movie, "The Women," directed by George Cuker starring Norma Shearer, Jane Crawford and Rosalind Russel, Wickstead found the spark she needed to design a most elegant spring collection.

The blossom brigade of gowns, maxi skirts,  and tunics  gave headway to the most delightful introduction of minimalist looks in soft voluminous shapes for spring. Sparsely dispersed throughout the collection, Wickstead featured bejewelled embellishments that resembled an eye on the shoulders of a tunic, hem of a dress and the front of a striped pencil skirt - the same embellishment graced a detached collar in a crosshatched design that complimented a dusty rose and beige striped gown.

Whilst the collection adapted silhouettes from the film, there is evidence of a slightly Elizabethan feel as seen in the proportions of sleeves, as well as the rose jacquard playsuit.
