London Fashion Week: House of Holland Spring/Summer 16
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
For his Spring/Summer 16 collection, Henry Holland tapped into the big-screen version of Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, a Johnny Depp flick from 1998. The House of Holland designer delved deep into the hallucinatory minds of the characters bringing them to life in the form of jewelled and embroidered insects that clung to the collection, shown at London Fashion Week.
Other nods were evident in the first look that took to the catwalk, as Holland accessorised a patchwork field jacket on a model that was reminiscent to Thompson himself with oversized tangerine aviators similar to those that Depp wore in the film.
Eccentric as always, Holland's collection was brimming with colour and fantastical prints. A maximalist overdose to say the least, Holland's vision of Spring/Summer 16 calls for mixing unexpected colours, prints and patterns in a look that is evocative of the Seventies and nerd-chic.
