Hollywood's most powerful stylist for 2019 has been named
Now *this* is a powerful pairing
For three years, Kate Young has held the title of The Hollywood Reporter's most powerful stylist. And with a roster that includes Margot Robbie, Michelle Williams, Dakota Johnson and Sienna Miller, it's not hard to see why. But this year, Young has officially been dethroned.
The number one spot for 2019 belongs to Tom Eerebout and Sandra Amador, the creative geniuses behind Lady Gaga's stellar A Star Is Born red carpet wardrobe. And seeing as the list is compiled based on "sar power, style and social media", it's not hard to see how the duo came in first.
Interestingly, neither of them have ever made the list previously and now, they're right at the top. But with outfits like the gorgeous Valentino feathered gown or that Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace at the Oscrs, it's no surprise. Gaga's press tour and rec carpet wardrobes have been the talk of Tinseltown (and far beyond).
The pair was followed by Bradley Cooper and Rami Malek's stylist Ilaria Urbinati in second place, Rebecca Corbin-Murray (the woman responsible for Gemma Chan's epic red carpet appearances of late) in third, style stalwart Elizabeth Stewart in fourth (her client roster includes heavyweights Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock and Viola Davis) and Petra Flannery (the go-to woman for Emma Stone, Amy Adams and Emilia Clarke). Young came in sixth place this year.
Of their looks for Gaga, Eerebout explained, "We wanted to deliver looks that were true to her — the element of surprise — and capture movie star magic." Looks like two stars are well and truly born...
