Hilary Alexander joins new title Hello! Fashion Monthly
Welcomes the world of celebrity watching
A standalone magazine aimed at women aged 18-35, Hello! Fashion has been launched in the UK for those who are, "interested in and knowledgeable about fashion". The company said it has recognised that increasingly busy readers do not have the time to "plough through" traditional high-end fashion magazines, with this offering a mainstream alternative.
Priced at just £1, the magazine will have no more than 148 pages each month, and works to a 12-day print deadline allowing it to offer more up-to-date news and fashion content in contrast to many competitor monthly titles, and falls under the Hello! weekly celebrity magazine's umberella.
But the real draw has to be the appointment of award-winning former fashion director of The Daily Telegraph and highly respected journalist Hilary Alexander OBE, who has taken the title of editor-at-large.
Hello! Fashion Monthly's first issue
Alexander has already made an impact with her first project – a commissioned poll in the country to discover the public's perceived 'fashion icons'. "It's great to see such a high percentage of British women represented within Hello! Fashion Monthly's new list of the most stylish stars," she said, referring to a list that included Victoria Beckham at number one, followed by Emma Watson, Kate Moss, Olivia Palermo and Alexa Chung.
"As a nation, we are really dominating the industry at present, with top designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Burberry, Matthew Williamson, Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham, Alice Temperley, Jenny Packham, Christopher Kane and Mary Katrantzou excelling on the global stage, so it is fantastic that our style ambassadors are also following suit."
