From the legendary Kelly or Birkin bags to the first saddle pieces, Hermès has been renowned for its leather goods since 1837, now presenting its 'Leather Forever' exhibition in Tokyo until December 23

After stopping off in Shanghai, Rome, London, Madrid, Taipei and Hong Kong, the luxury label has touched town in Tokyo for its latest location in the Leather Forever exhibition tour.

On display at the Tokyo National Museum, the Hermès retrospective focuses on the house's rich history, starting with its founder's Thierry Hermès passion for creating high-quality equestrian equipment which earned him quick success across the world.

The exhibit also looks at the Kelly bag and the Birkin, the Arceau watches and how orange became the house's signature colour – referencing the natural shade of leather. Leather Forever sheds a light on every step of Hermès' skilled craftsman and their expertise, giving people a chance to see unique vintage pieces and learn about the legendary fashion house's deep-rooted past in leather.
