The Hermès International carnival in New York
Ain't no party like a Hermès party...
Close to 700 guests from the globe over headed Wall Street this week in order to celebrate Hermès' Autumn/Winter 14 women's collection and its women's luxury products – all presented in super colourful and imaginatively designed settings.
There were dancing girls, fortune tellers, artists, an equestrian fairground and photo booths to shine a spotlight on the brands' 'women's product universe'.
The event, entitled 'All About Women', signifies the growing importance of the American market to the heritage Parisian house.
"For us, the U.S. has been a tremendous market for a few years now. We view it as something very important for now and for the future of the development of the house," said Axel Dumas, Chief Executive Officer of Hermès International and the sixth generation of the Hermès-owning Dumas family. "It's always important to invest in a market we've been present in for a long time." He confirmed.
The extravaganza provided an opportunity for Hermès' most senior team members; Dumas; Pierre-Alexis Dumas, artistic director of Hermès International; Christophe Lemaire, plus other product designers and regional heads to mix with friends of the house, such as Jodie Foster, Scout Willis, Phillip Lim and Martha Stewart.
