Here’s everything you need to know about Chanel’s Cruise ’19 show

It was a sea-sonal hit
The trans-seasonal fashion shows have officially started and of course, Chanel kicked off the season in an unforgettable way...

Just as we thought Karl Lagerfeld‘s brilliant creativity for Chanel couldn’t get any better, he delivered a standout show for Cruise ’19 at the Grand Palais

Initially, King Karl wanted to host a floating show this season with a runway taking place on a ship. But what happens when it becomes impossible? You just bring the sea to shore and construct a 330-foot-long ocean liner in the middle of the historic Parisian site (which will be going under renovations soon with Chanel as its official sponsor).

Titled La Pausa, the replicated ship that was named after a villa built by Coco Chanel, was the perfect backdrop for the trans-seasonal collection.

Adding to the designer’s list of spectacular design setups such as a space rocket, a waterfall and an Eiffel Tower, La Pausa stayed put as models including the Hadid sisters and Moroccan model Nora Attal, fronted King Karl’s latest designs for the French fashion maison.

There were signature tweeded skirt suits (obviously, no Chanel collection is complete without tweed), as well as beautifully crafted dresses, coats, skirts and jackets, complete in a nautical colour palette.

The show drew guests from all over the globe including the house’s ambassadors including Kristen Stewart, Lily-Rose Depp and Margot Robbie. Also, this marks Robbie’s first official Chanel show since being named as the maison’s newest ambassador in March
