Karl Lagerfeld debuts Fendi's first Haute Couture collection for Autumn/Winter 15
A landmark as pivotal as five decades is not about to go unrecognised, and as Karl Lagerfeld rings in half a century at the creative helm of Fendi, an equally momentous event – Fendi's first Haute Couture collection – marks the occasion. Naturally this debut was lined up to be a schedule highlight as the special fur line saw the Autumn/Winter 15 season inaugurate Fendi Haute Couture.
The collection was lavish and liberated, not constrained by any theme or particular inspiration but rather an exploration in the pursuit of luscious design realised through sumptuous fur. The glorious Théâtre de Champs-Élysees venue was filled with LVMH royalty, and friends of the group who all wanted to attended this significant event.
Coats and scarves sashayed down the runway, each their own individual creation. A floor-length coat with a rounded hem at the front and full hood, opened the show and a stream of mink coats in black and brown followed. A highlight, if there must be one, would be the white gown, skirted in white-grey mink reams. Discover the collection in full via the gallery below...
