Paris Haute Couture AW15: Chanel
Karl Lagerfeld is never one to disappoint when it comes to the creative input into the production of any fashion presentation, and the highly anticipated – Chanel Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 15 – was to be no different. Paris' Grand Palais was transformed into a Casino Royale, Chanel style, but this was no gamble, the house always wins.
Kristin Stewart, who can be seen in Chanel's current eyewear campaign and Julianne Moore, who wore Chanel Haute Couture at this year's victorious Oscars, both formed part of the show. Stewart wore a black velvet suit with a collarless jacket and pants, and Moore wore a deep teal velvet figure hugging gown with an asymmetrical neckline. The pair were seen trying their luck with a throw of the dice and chancing it on the roulette table. All part of the action.
Meanwhile, the other models, Kendall Jenner among them, worked hard circulating the casino floor in Lagerfeld's designs. Jenner donned a show-stopping white bridal pant-suit complete with a veiled train that dropped from the shoulder lapels and dramatically trailed far behind her. Elsewhere Chanel signature looks came through in tweed skirt-suits with a new twist on the classic Chanel jacket, some presented with wide open lapels and others collarless in a low 'V' single-button fasten.
