Haider Ackermann to launch his own couture line?
The Colombian designer dreams big...
Haider Ackermann has huge expansion plans for his celebrated ready-to-wear label. The Colombian fashion designer recently discussed opening more boutiques as well as potentially venturing into couture.
"Suddenly this season, I am also thinking about opening stores," Ackermann said to a source, "Another thing I would love to explore is haute couture. I know where I'd do it, the music, what it would look like. I don't forget these things – they haunt me every night. Sometimes I feel I have a pile of ideas that I am keeping aside because I can't use them [for ready-to-wear]."
The designer, who also creates a menswear line, has been linked to many vacant creative director positions over the last few years as well – from taking over at Martin Margiela when the designer retired, to replacing John Galliano when he left Dior. Karl Lagerfeld also said Ackermann would make a good successor for him at Chanel.
