Paris Haute Couture SS15: Giambattista Valli

Mood board muses...

With photos of Gabrielle Chanel and Janis Joplin pinned across his mood board backstage, Giambattista Valli unveiled a beautiful Haute Couture collection that was elegant, classic and slightly rocker-chic

Known for his floral embellishments and ultra-feminine designs, Giambattista Valli's Haute Couture Spring/Summer 15 inspirations provided him with a unique mood of '60s rocker flair and Parisian poise.

Dresses and skirts were worn over trousers – a new addition to Valli couture – while black-and-white shades set the mood. Botanical embroideries were stitched across chiffon tank tops and tailored jackets, with a scattering 3D print of blossoms appearing on sculpted dresses that were cinched at the waist.

A modern disintegrating gingham print also appeared on girly variations of strapless dresses. However the showstoppers were the final looks which came in pretty shades of pastel pink, coral and lavender. Ending his presentation on a bouncy and bold note, Valli sent out large tulle gowns with crystal detailing paired with black headpieces that featured netted veils covering half the models faces – putting forward some bewitchingly glamourous Haute Couture.
