Milan Fashion Week: Giamba Autumn/Winter 15
Dark twisted fantasy
Inspired by the 1960's look, silhouettes were a combination of swinging sixties with hardcore elements at the Giamba ready-to-wear Autumn/Winter 2015 show in Milan on Friday. Giambattista Valli's muse for this season's collection is the husky-voiced German singer Nina Hagen – the 'Godmother of Punk'. Her renowned attitude and aura is reflected in the clothing, with ensembles such as a whimsical floral printed dresses with bell sleeves paired with leather and metal holed harnesses finished off with buckle-up gogo boots.
Models faces were adorned in temporary tattoos in contradiction to the hippy floral garments draped on their bodies. Jackets and coats were trimmed in fur and combined with spiked/fringed boots that were delicately aggressive and almost every outfit had a leather restriction.
"It is fun to have red carpet looks and do Haute Couture for Rihanna you know... This is also so refreshing. I love contrast."
