First look: Marc Jacobs Cruise 2014/15
All that jazz
Following on from the Marc by Marc Jacobs space-invasion affair that was presented to the public earlier this week, its 'big sister' and mainline brand proved to be a sparkling burst for Cruise 2014/15.
Hemlines on minidresses were kept super high and came in an array of colourful sequins, ruched satin and sheer black guipure, almost each styled with sheer black stockings and almost novelty footwear — think further sequins across scrunched python boots and you are on the right track. “It’s a party,” is how Joseph Carter, Marc Jacobs’ head of women’s design, described the collection, presented for the first time as a mini show at Manhattan’s Academy Mansion.
“It’s punchy, something a little gaudy.” He said, referring to the halter dress with a giant jeweled choker neckline, and the black-and-white “bunny fur” jacket with a bow.
