First look: Chloé, Jason Wu and Prabal Gurung
Clare Waight Keller took to a beautiful maison on the outskirts of Paris for Chloé’s Cruise 2014/15 line up. “It was about these architectural girls who love clean lines and silhouettes,” she said during a small runway presentation yesterday. The results are gracefully chic, focusing on soft blue hues.
And in New York, Jason Wu opted for a purist aesthetic, zoning in on industrial designer Dieter Rams (known for his work with Braun), who was Wu's 'muse' for this season. “He’s really one of the pioneers of making functional things beautiful,” said the fashion designer, who took the same approach – spare and subtle in chalky tones, optic white, pale blue and pastel pink.
Also in the America, Prabal Gurung described his Cruise 2014/15 collection as having, “feminine detail, but with bite.” He approached the idea in with lace, tweed and leather, with bold graphics and patchwork style colour blocking, taking the lead from last season. This time, Gurung was inspired by artist Matthew Stone.
