Fendi's AW14 fur Karl Lagerfeld doll is a huge retail hit
That's Karl Jr. to you
Already given the nickname of 'Karl Junior' – the now famous furry keychain doll made in the designer's image that was presented on the Fendi Autumn/Winter 14 runway has made almost as much impact as those drones used to take pictures of the show.
It seems that Fendi customers loved the novelty item, with the waiting list now standing at more than 600 people. And when you consider that it's a simple and small item assembled from tiny pieces of silver fox, mink and goats coats selling for a cool €1,240 – it's making a tidy little profit for the brand along the way. If Fendi manage to honour each client on the waiting list, the label will take one million dollars for the single design... Not bad for a keychain.
And today, in honour Karl Jr. the Fendi boutique on Avenue Montaigne in Paris has arranged to throw a celebratory party, with the promise of the real thing in attendance, too.
