Here’s everything you need to know about Dolce & Gabbana’s first ever fashion show in Dubai

#DGLovesDubai
Last night, Dolce & Gabbana took over Dubai with an unbelievable collection dedicated to the men and women of the Middle East...

Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana is known for incorporating its rich Sicilian DNA into statement ensembles and collections during Milan Fashion Week, but every now and then, the duo designers behind the brand releases exclusive collections for different markets around the globe, as well as host one-off fashion shows in different cities.

Having previously hosted the world’s most extravagant runway presentation in New York, presenting its latest Alta Moda collection in Como and setting up their very own Italian market pop-up at Harrods, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana do not disappoint when it comes to putting on a show.

Last night, the spotlight fell on the Middle East as the designers jet-setted to town to host their very first fashion show in Dubai

In town to celebrate the brand’s new flagship boutique in The Dubai Mall’s new Fashion Avenue extension, Dolce & Gabbana’s #DGLovesDubai takeover showed the designers’ love for the Middle East with a 128-look fashion show that boasted special pieces made for the region.

As a soundtrack performed by an orchestra from Italy’s opera house La Scala unfolded, models strutted the catwalk in modest silhouettes, embellished caftans, printed abayas, botanical robes, rich tailoring and a slew of statement gowns. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Dolce & Gabbana show without tiaras, flower crowns and beaded headpieces.

The main theme of the show was ‘Day & Night’ and the collection had many Arabian-inspired pieces that had a touch of Sicily, too.

On the beauty front, models walked the catwalk glammed in D&G Beauty products and whilst some featured more neutral looks, some of the models fronted the brand’s new Dolcissimo lipstick (of which four shades have been made exclusively for the Middle East).
