The 2015 Elle Style Awards in London
Sam Smith, Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne, Christopher Bailey and more...
As if London wasn't already bursting with style as the best and brightest stars in fashion and show business have flocked to the city for London Fashion Week, the Elle Style Awards took place last night and managed to up the style steaks to a new high. Designers, models, actresses, musicians and more were honoured in a star studded awards ceremony
All eyes were on Rosie Huntington Whiteley, who made a jaw-dropping red carpet entrance in a low cut, barely there, black dress. Rosie walked away with the 'Model of the Year' award, presented to her by Calvin Harris. Jordan Dunn was another model-of-the-moment in attendance wearing a gold embellished mini dress, she had the opportunity to present the Musician of the year award which went to Sam Smith, hot on the trail from his Grammy victories. Another musician with plenty to celebrate was Taylor Swift, who won the prestigious 'Woman of the Year' Award. Swift traded her usually playful style for a decidedly more mature look with sleek brushed back hair (her usual bangs were no where to be seen) and an alluring emerald and black dress with a thigh high split.
Cara Delevingne, although all over runways this fashion month, swooped in to win 'Breakthrough Actress'. Elsewhere in the entertainment categories, Simon Cowell won the 'Contribution to Entertainment Award', acting awards went out to Rebel Wilson who won the 'Rising Star Award' as presented by comedy legend Jennifer Saunders which one must assume was a highlight for the Australian comic actress. 'Best Actress TV' went to the always stylish, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Diane Kruger won 'Best Actress Film'. Welsh actor and Drakula star Luke Evans won Best Actor.
Mary Katrantzou was honoured as 'Red Carpet Designer' and received her award from Leigh Zezark. The Central St. Martins trained designer has earned herself quiet the celebrity following; Sarah Jessica Parker, Amanda Seyfried and Elle's Woman of the Year – Taylor Swift are all fans of the designers colourful bold prints. Christopher Bailey was appointed the 'Editors Choice', scooping what is arguably the most prestigious designers award of the night.
As always, even amongst the celebration and award winning, the real star of the night was style. Take a look at what the stars wore on the red carped below:
