eBay launches full-price designer shopping destination
Renowned designers to get a new online presence
The e-commerce giant announced the launch of its 'Designer Collective' this week, which is a full-price shopping destination that features current season's products from 16 USA-based fashion brands.
"Designer Collective fits with our philosophy — as partner and an enabler of brands and not a competitor," said Devin Wenig, President of eBay Marketplaces, adding that, "We're transaction-based. We only succeed if our partners succeed."
The designers and brands that are taking part in eBay's Designer Collective will have control over their storefronts, in addition to eBay not owning any inventory. The initiative will no doubt prove extremely beneficial for the participating brands, who will be able to extend their online presence.
Designers including Calvin Klein, Nicole Miller, Elie Tahari, Cynthia Vincent, House of Harlow 1960, Rebecca Minkoff, Siwy Denim, Tadashi Shoji, Badgley Mischka, Cynthia Rowley, True Religion and many more are all currently participating in the Designer Collective, with hopes of signing on more designer brands for the future.
