New York Fashion Week: DKNY Autumn/Winter 15

The Big Apple illuminated

For the Autumn/Winter 2015 season, Donna Karan injected her lineup with a feminine flair and a tailored masculine undertone at New York Fashion Week (NYFW)

Hosted at the Cedar Lake Dance Company space, DKNY's Autumn/Winter 15 collection was revealed to a crowd of fresh-faced starlets, including Bella Hadid and the youngest of the Richie clan, Sophia Richie and her older sister Nicole.

The show began with a vibrant cobalt blue sweater expertly layered with a white high turtleneck and a light camel-coloured skirt. Embellishment and liquorice rouges offered a playful burst in contrast to the greys and neutrals, and a series of beautifully tailored black ensembles closed the show. 

The backdrop of the show featured an LCD screen which lit up the runway and displayed tweets about what New York meant to random Twitter users. And what does Autumn/Winter 15 mean to Donna Karan? "The New York woman who dresses day to night, who's illuminated by black with shots of colour and neon lights. The young working woman, the ageless working woman..."
