The show must go on...

Just hours after Burberry announced that it would be staging a live, outdoor runway show in September for Spring/Summer '21, Dior revealed its plans for Maria Grazia Chiuri's next runway show.

In a digital press conference with the Creative Director herself and Pietro Beccari, CEO, the duo announced that Dior will strut back to the runway for Cruise '21 with an audience-free show on July 22.

What promises to be a spectacular showcase, there were three main reasons as to why the show must go on.

1. "The first one for Maria Grazia and I, but I think we are not the only ones: luxury is emotions, and when it comes to fashion, there is nothing that carries the emotion of a real fashion show, a live performance where art is performed without a safety net," said Beccari.

2. To continue to support and celebrate fashion (both on a local and global scale), Beccari referred to the Dior family as the models, photographers, hairstylists, makeup artists and production houses. "We believe this occasion will be auspicious for the future, a good incentive to carry on with a certain optimism."

3. "The support for our country is important for both of us, [as is] the support for the Puglia region, which was so badly hit by the crisis and on the edge of bankruptcy, but with a strong will to fight," he continued. The collection, specifically, will celebrate the traditional arts and craftsmanship of Puglia, an Italian region where Chiuri's father is from.

Although there won't be an audience, the show will take place in the center of Lecce on July 22, 2020.
