Let the light-ness shine
Contemporary, short dresses – some with asymmetrical fluffy skirts, some chic and smooth, others featuring sloping shoulders with bulk and some simply pretty and pastel. Christian Dior's Haute Couture SS14 collection shown yesterday is a modern take on the traditional idea of 'ball gown couture'.
The pieces were airy and light, full of volume with a breathable finish – and the key is in the perforation. Raf Simons added trouser suits, a classic bar jacket and even outerwear to the collection, each as fresh as the light white ensemble that started the show. Spring is coming...
