First look: Disney's Cinderella gets some fancy designer slippers – coming to Dubai soon
If the glass shoe fits...
Using materials from Perspex to Swarovski, the delicate glass slippers, first seen in Disney's 1950 Cinderella film, have now been reimagined in a variety of new ways thanks to designers Nicholas Kirkwood, Charlotte Olympia, Salvatore Ferragamo, Jerome Rousseau, Stuart Weitzman, Jimmy Choo, Paul Andrew, Alexandre Birman, and Rene Caovilla.
"Cinderella has both delicate and strong qualities as a character," Nicholas Kirkwood noted. "The moment of transformation emphasises both and gave me the design inspiration to create a piece that spoke to the film's magic."
The whimsical new shoes will soon be available to order from major retail stores across the world, including Harrods, Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and Beverly Hills, Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Excelsior Milano, Tsum in Moscow, Isetan in Tokyo, and Dubai's Level Shoe District – with the sparkly slippers set to be unveiled right before Valentine's Day.
