Costume National and Marina Abramovic join forces for new performance piece

Some creative forces...

Costume National creative director Ennio Capasa and Marina Abramovic are collaborating for her new performance at The Art of Elysium’s annual 'Heaven' gala in Los Angeles

For the past six months, the designer and artist have been thinking of new designs that will be used throughout the evening by guests as part of an interactive artistic experience for the
Art of Elysium's gala in L.A. on January 10. Guests will also be able to see Costume National's latest Pre-Fall collection during the charitable event.

With this year's gala theme as 'Heaven', attendees at the bash will be sure to see a large group of Hollywood faces as the host committee includes James Franco, Shepard Fairey, Kirsten Dunst, Cameron Silver and Eva Mendes, among others.

The longtime friends Abramovic and Capasa – who first met through Costume National fan Willem Dafoe – have been keen to work together for a while now.
"I was eagerly awaiting the right moment to work with Ennio and Costume National," Abramovic said. "The genius of his aesthetic resides in his deep understanding of human forms and the flow of energy that fuels the creative process. Ennio and I do different things, but somehow we manage to connect with people in the same way."

Capasa also spoke about the new partnership, "Collaborating with Marina is a dream! She is a magic woman, a great friend and a unique artist, with profound human insight and sensitivity."
