New York Fashion Week: Coach Spring/Summer 16
Take a look at the house’s first 'real' runway show
As the brand prepares to celebrate a landmark year in 2016, when it will mark its 75th anniversary, Coach decided to ramp up to the celebrations with an energetic and significant Spring/Summer 16 presentation – its first real runway show. The specially constructed glass box venue, situated above a construction site at Hudson Yards added to the intensity of the highly produced show.
The lineup saw the unveiling of the new higher-priced, limited-distribution collection, big on ready-to-wear – Coach 1941. British creative director, Stuart Vevers, continues to translate his love of all things "Americana," into fun designs, that hit the perfect note for the brand, with the twist of his outsiders perspective: "There is definitely a nostalgic element. I want it to have that warmth and familiarity, like you know what it is but haven't quite seen it done like that," he said.
