Christian Louboutin is set to unveil its first concession devoted to handbags and leather goods, at Harvey Nichols, in London

Today, Christian Louboutin will take another step further in expanding his business, with the opening of a dedicated handbag and small leather goods concession at Harvey Nichols, in London.

According to Alexis Mourot, Group Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Christian Louboutin, the space is a sign of how the handbags and small leather goods business is expanding for Louboutin. "In terms of percentage it's currently relatively small, about 5 percent of the business, but it has the potential to be much higher, so it's important for us to invest in the category," said Mourot.

Some of the brand's best-selling bags include the Pigalle - a thin rectangular clutch, the Panettone - a range of wallets and handbags featuring leather spikes, and Sweet Charity - a shoulder bag fashioned with gold chain straps. The collection ranges from approximately $621 to $3,695.

Christian Louboutin worked with architect Will Russell on the creation of the new space, which Mourot reveals offers a "luxurious and feminine feel".

The brand will open a pop-up boutique in Paris in February, and is considering bringing the concept to other markets including the U.S. and Asia.
